Tomb of Khawaja Safar Sulemani

This is the tomb of Turkish Captain Khawaja Safar Suleimani, who came to India in 1530 at the invitation of Bahadur Shah. He died in a battle at Diu with the Portuguese in 1545-46 A.D. and was buried at this place. Tomb is built in Indo-Sarcenic style and it is roofed by a central dome flanked by eight smaller domes. The tomb also contains the graves of a Noble Marjan Sami, who died in 1559-60 A.D.
